Lunch Leaders to the Rescue
Starting last spring, students in second, third, fourth, and fifth grade have been invited to participate in our Lunch Leader program. We just started our third session this week where five students from each class second, third, fourth, and fifth grade class volunteer once a week for three months to perform their Lunch Leader roles. Responsibilities include picking up trash, stacking lunch trays to get cleaned and sorting ‘share bin’ items.
Our lead custodian, Rob Emerson, shared that having students join in and help has been a huge support in the lunchroom. When asked why they like being a lunch leader, Connor, a third grade student shared that “it’s fun!”
